It appears that the new GTK+ libs don't support 256 colour mode on Win32.  I
get an error dialog with the following message:

Gdk-ERROR **: Palettized display (256 colour) mode not supported on Windows.
aborting...

and if I OK this dialog up pops a Visual C++ Runtime Library error telling
me that abnormal program termination occurred in the ethereal exe.

It seems that the new GTK+ is a small step backwards for me at least.
