Hello, I've only just discovered 'ethereal' and am attempting to use
it under WinNT4. I've read through the readme(s) and scanned the
mailing list archives but haven't been able to locate an answer to my
question. I'm expecting the answer is *very* simple, on the order of
"I *must* be mis-interpreting how 'ethereal' is meant to operate :)",
but...

I've extracted the required files for the non-capture mode win32
distribution. After starting 'ethereal' I never see any network data
in the live display window (the main pane). My understanding is that
this should default to display of all data on the configured network
interface. I'm running as Administrator on a machine with a single
network interface (Ethernet 10/100).

On a separate Win NT machine I installed the *capture* mode win32
distribution. I also installed the WinNT packet driver prior to
running 'ethereal'. Same thing (for both capture and live display).
However on this machine I at least see traffic while running
'tethereal'.

Can anyone shed some light on what is going? I'm sure this is just a
result of me mis-reading/mis-understanding how 'ethereal' is supposed
to be configured/run.

Thanks in advance! -David
