Ethereal captures on your network interface, so whatever your network
you're attached to is the one you can sniff. If you need to sniff
a remote network, you need access to a machine on that network. By
"machine", I mean "computer with a packet capture program" (solaris/snoop,
various-unixes/tcpdump, win32/windump) or "network device with capturing
capabilities", like a hub or router that will capture packets for you.
