No, but you need an SNMP *library* for the particular RPM binary
distribution of Ethereal to work.
I would try going to
http://www.rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/UByName.html
and look at getting one of the RPMs with either "ucd-snmp" or "ucdsnmp",
and "4.0.1", in its name. (Not the "devel" or "utils" RPMs, just the
regular ones. I do not know enough to make any recommendations for
which one to pick up.)
*DO NOT* get any UCD SNMP RPM that has "4.1.1" in it; UCD SNMP 4.1.1,
alas, made a change that broke binary compatibility, so RPMs built with
pre-4.1.1 versions of UCD SNMP (which I think the various Ethereal
binary RPMs are) will *not* work with 4.1.1.
