Hi,
first of all thanks a lot for the quick response! Since I started working in
'big' company ( Alcatel)
I'm not used to that anymore. But I appreciate VERY much.
1. I really need ESIS analysis done by the machine and not by me --
Question: Is there any place
about OSI Documentation that is freely available? It seems quite
impossible to get real infos.
I would like to write some small stuff to encode the options in ISIS
also. ( As a starter )
2. Therefore I would like to get the current developer Sources via anonymus
CVS. I followed the
instructions and also get the login prompt. But after hitting return I
get a 'connection refused error'
I'm using 1.10.5. - any idea why I can't go in?
I would like to sync my changes to your's and avoid wasting time with
merging code.
Is someone working at all on the OSI code ??
3. Questions:
I would also like to add the 'Load, (save), SaveAs Filter File'. I plan
to put it into the filter window
where the save Button already is. But the 'Select a file' dialog is
somewhat hardcoded with the
name of the window. There are two possibilities and I don't like
both of them:
a) re-design the Interface to add multiple window headers etc.. ( I
don't know the SW structure
good enough to avoid problems with capture file loading )
b) 'cut and paste' and modify the necessary stuff ( I hate to merely
duplicate code and I'm almost fighting
with memeory space -- my traces are about 20-30 MByte )
In the first place I will duplicate.
4. Is it really necessary or even usefull to use lex/Yacc to filter?? From
other ( unskilled as far as I think because of
all the pronblems they had ) guys and a project I remember that the
code exploded when using lex/Yacc. It was
translated into C that was NOT understandable anymore. I havn't looked
at the ethereal code nor I think that I will
understand it now -- so it's a more academical question to you.
