I'm using the IBM PCI Wakelan token-ring card with the Olympic driver
on Linux. The promiscuous mode works, without me having to do anything
special. I think the IBM PCI TR (not WakeLan) does not support the
promiscuous mode. Also, have you checked that you are on a hub, not a
switch ?
