There have been a few posts on this, but I just got on and don't have
them specifically.
If I had my druthers, I'd be able to control how detailed a printout I
get. For instance, if I'm concerned with TCP data, or even the higher
level protocol (POP for instance), I should be able to 'turn off' the
lower level protocols and avoid the mind numbing output that I'll get
from the IP and Ether protocols.

Microsoft Network Monitor lets you select whether to open up all
"openable" lines (the lines with the "+" or "-" in a box) when printing,
or to print stuff the way it'd display (opened or closed).
That wouldn't eliminate the protocols whose dissection is "closed", but
it'd limit them to one line.
