Microsoft Network Monitor, by default, prints the summary line for the
packet (the line from its packet window), the protocol-tree display of
the packet, and the hex dump of the packet, for all packets it prints.

It offers, in the "File/Print" dialog box (if you click the "Advanced"
button), the option of disabling any of them, so you can get just the
summary lines (which is what you're asking for), just the detail lines
(which is pretty much what we do now), or just the hex dumps.

Would something such as that be useful?  Or would it be overkill, with
some subset being better?
