  Are you using GTK+ 1.1.x?  The 1.1.x tree is intended primarily for
developers who want to extend GTK+.  From what I've read on the GTK list,
a few of the widgets are undergoing some major changes, so I wouldn't be
surprised if Ethereal didn't compile with it.  Ethereal should compile
with GTK+ 1.0.x just fine.  If it doesn't please let me know.
