Without a working windows box in which to do development I cannot help on this.

No I guess it isn't, specially because there are more recent betas the
release candidates and the final.

Plus, I have reasons to believe that this beta behaves somewhat
differently than the final because I see things in windows that I
cannot reconstruct on my box.
