FWIW I've done a pass over the Ethereal .c source files extracting "words"
from quoted text strings (i.e. stuff that the user sees) and then doing
some (somewhat manual) reviewing for spelling, typos, etc.

The review found words needing correction such as:
  lenght, accesing, adress, incomming, incrising, inacurate,
  negociation, occuring, priviliges, redunadant, wether,
  recieved and so on.

I've identified corrections for 47 source files (mostly
dissectors) with usually a small number of changes per file.

Notes:

1. Aside from a few miscellaneous changes, the corrections occur in:
   - the 'name', 'abbrev' and/or 'blurb' components of hf[] array elements;
      (The 'abbrev' changes will have the effect
       of slightly changing the name used when filtering for these fields;
       Hopefully this is not a problem).

   - 'Values array' text;

   - strings used as args to proto_tree_add_text;

   - 'preference' descriptive fields (not preference names);

2. In two cases (packet-gsm_map and packet_mms) patches to both
   the .c file and the "source" for the .c file are included.

3. One MSVC compiler warning in sigcomp-uvdm.c has been fixed.

4. I used dictionary.com to check certain spellings.

5. The attached (gzipped) patch file was generated using the
   Subversion Windows command line client.

If there are any questions or concerns please let me know.

Happy New Year !

Bill Meier
