As I don't have a real clue what's going wrong, I can assure you it's working on windows.

I would guess there's something wrong with your path or the libs installed.

BTW: did you do a distclean first? Otherwise the config.h (and probably other intermediate files) might be wrong for win32 (the one in the released sources are for unix platforms).
