Hi,

I've been trying to make ethereal's exception handling work, and, in
particular, make use of a FINALLY block.

I have to say, I'm getting very frustrated by the deafening silence this and other recent postings have received. I know you're all busy, but having spent a considerable amount of time investigating a problem and finding a solution, and then going to the effort of trying to share the results with other Ethereal users, just being ignored is hardly encouraging.

I can't pretend that our work is hugely significant, but Ethereal does contain a fair amount of code written by myself and my colleagues, including almost the entirety of the IAX2 dissector, which has now been extensively updated; however, like my exceptions post, that post was also ignored. It's all very well encouraging people to create and submit new dissectors, but if, once they come to maintain them, they are ignored, pretty soon people are going to stop bothering.

I'm therefore going to make one more plea, before I march off in a huff and keep all our Ethereal development internal. Does anybody have any comments on the patches I have submitted to this list lately? If not, /please/ could someone with svn commit access check them in!

Thank you for listening :).

Richard
