This is probably a question best asked of ethereal-dev@xxxxxxxxxxxx, as
most of the development work I do isn't done with MSVC++, as that
doesn't run on Mac OS X. :-)

Note that Ethereal builds on Windows are typically done from the command
line, although you might be able to make a "Makefile project" for it in
the Visual Studio GUI.
