Hi,
One of the limitations to the current SIGCOMP decoder is that all instruction codes are not implemented, it does work on some sample
captures I have and also on some of the sample stress tests.
If the instruction isn't implemented like SIGCOMP_INSTR_SORT_ASCENDING you should get a printout in the UDVM execution trace
saying "Execution of this instruction is NOT implemented"(sigcomp-udvm.c in dir ../epan).

The included frame shows decompressing text(not a SIP message). In the preferences you can set very detailed dissection of the decompression
process to see what goes wrong. If you want to send me a sample trace I can have a look to try to find out whats going wrong.
Best regards
Anders

Subject: [Ethereal-dev] sigcomp decoding

hi all,

i'm compressing a sip message by sigcomp mechanism.
i want to check wether the sigcomp message formed is proper.
i'm using Ethereal Version 0.10.11 for the purpose.

however ethereal is not able to decode the sigcomp message.
i would like to know if there is any freely available sigcomp tool to test the same.
is the ethereal implementation of sigcomp fully compliant to rfcs 3320 and 3321?
if not, what are the limitations?
is there a test program for ethereal's sigcomp module? it could serve as a reference for me.

thnx in advance.
/ayan
