I have changed the NSIP dissector to use a text file as input for
"local dns" instead of the Ericsson internal translation. It works fine
on Solaris but on Win2k the Preferences dialog has not been updated but
still shows the Ericsson internal IP addr decode option. I am using the

removed the Windows installation completely, downloaded it again and
compiled. I have also installed the ethereal-win32-libs from scratch.
What could cause this behaviour
Having Ethereal still use the installed libethereal.dll even though you thought you'd removed it. 


and how do I solve the problem?
Try using the "find files" (or "search for files", or whatever it's called) item in the Start menu to look for all files named "libethereal.dll", and make sure there are *no* such files left - if you find any, there might be a still-installed part of Ethereal; remove that installation completely.
