u need to install GLIB....
At every step the Ethereal configure will ask u to
install all the Packages that are missing in solaris.
All such packages are freewares and available on the
internet under GNU Public license. Just lookup on
google and you will find locations to download those
packages.
Those packages (like GLIB) come standard with Linux
so you dont have such Probs with Linux
