Ethereal-dev: [Ethereal-dev] Ethereal: v0.10.6 w/WinXP SP2 Bugs captured on screen
PC Operating System: WinXP-PRO (Japanese version) with SP2 Build 2600
including Post-SP2 security patches applied.
Ethereal: v0.10.6 compiled with GTK+ 2.44, with GLib 2.4.5, with WinPcap
(v3.0.1 alpha), with libz 1.2.1, with libpcre 4.4, with Net-SNMP 5.1,
with ADNS.
I load ethereal by clicking on a ethereal captured file [filename.cap
{any name will do}], but the file is hiden under a massive directory
structure as follows (note part of the directory name has been renamed
to "xxxx", but the "xxx's" represent a 1:1 character replacement of the
same length and also showing all spaces just as they are on my PC):
D:\wbenton\My Documents\xxxxxxxxx\Corporate\Internal Testing\myxxxxxxxxx
syncro problem\XXXX-GIP4.cap
The Ethereal application itself is stored at the default: C:\Program
Files\Ethereal
Once Ethereal learns/caches this long directory structure, it won't
start up properly even by just going to the C:\Program Files\Ethereal
directory and double clicking ethereal.exe or by using the shortcuts on
the desktop. Once the Ethereal cache learns that LFN including large
directory structure, you get error messages regardless of whether
starting ethereal.exe directly or by double clicking on any .cap file.

have come because I was offline at the time.
