Here is another patch for make-authors-short.pl (which now becomes a wrapper for another script). It translates accented UTF-8 characters to Pod E<> escapes, which in turn get translated to *roff escapes and HTML entities in ethereal.1 and ethereal.html. Hopefully this means the authors list in the man page should display correctly on a wider range of machines.
