Thats a bit of a matter of personal taste. I did the nightly build method for some time (because I was sitting behind a corporate firewall, 
which prevents me from using CVS).
But after changing to update using CVS, this saves me *a lot* of time, as the merging between the personal sources and 
the CVS is usually done automatically and without much problems.

So I would recommend then to update your sources using CVS.
