i have been testing an algorithm implementing Steve Bellovin's method to 
detected NAT'ted hosts
(http://www.research.att.com/~smb/papers/fnat.pdf) when it occurred to me 
that it would be very useful
to have the ip.id in a column all to itself.  now up until this point i 
haven't touched any ethereal code that deals with
the ui, but i figured implementing a kind of column type that can contain 
the output from a read filter would be
worth reading up on it.  any thoughts/ideas/suggestions/flames?
