In general it would be great if the fields were more hierarchically named (or at least named in a smarter way).
In the long run it would be great to completely reorganize the Filter Expression box (Have you tried looking lately through the SMB filter list in the Filter Expression box for a field you were interested in? How successful were you?), which, depending on how it is rewritten, might work much better/easier if there was a better schema for field naming. 

What you're suggesting might fit into this...
