OK i didn't know about other fields that also need fixed alignment, the
work in working out some "way" to get this working is just to much.
But under gnome-2 with GTK-2 the default font is the proportional
application font. It should be possible to automatically select the
monospaced font directly. When doing this, Ethereal will nicely follow
the HIG by using that monospaced font just like gnome-terminal and other
applications that need monospaced fonts.
