Having a possibility to save in Wav-format (for those codecs where it's relatively easy, e.g. PCM A-law and U-law) and
to store in rtpdump format (any codec) would probably be very good.
Wav-format is a format that works with a lot of programs/converters and for PCM A-law/U-law I know that
it's a quite easy task, but for other codecs it may not be so easy as I remember.
My preliminar guess is that it is the rtpdump "dump" format that would be most useful of "dump" and "payload".
I don't have so much details right now. I have just started to look at this.
If you need to convert it to another format it could be possible to make an external converter from rtpdump format to the other format.
