Unfortunately make never gets to prove its worth: Newer automakes will
replace the default rule by the rule given by Makefile.am, not just add to
it.
So if any make command breaks, I'll either run sed over the result removing
the default lines or I'll really have to try and disable generating an
aclocal.m4 file and provide one with the package - which will probably
be an interesting experience in new breakages ;-)

I found out that "pro" means "instead of" (as in proconsul). Now I know
what proactive means.
