Greg,

try an explicit
./autogen.sh
in your ethereal directory and see if this helps.

Best regards

Does anyone know why my build of Ethereal still reports version 0.9.4

Old version?

I uninstalled and reinstalled version 0.9.6 but after copying in my new
build it now reports that it is version 0.9.4.

Can you do a "which ethereal" and find out the date the file was installed?
Then call the file with its absolute path and check the version again.

 Ciao

I found out that "pro" means "instead of" (as in proconsul). Now I know
what proactive means.
