I think you should try to resolve this with Tom (which you are doing) and
only ask Guy to act as arbiter in case you can't resolve this between the
two of you.

There are more than 200 dissectors. I don't think that registering will
work, a web page for this purpose is counterproductive IMHO. When you want
to work on something either risk duplicating work or just sent out a mail
that you intend to work on something. The latter method has the advantage
of "automatic" expiry...

Just my ideas on this topic.

I found out that "pro" means "instead of" (as in proconsul). Now I know
what proactive means.
