Hi,

I'm looking for the possibility to export data from particular protocols
into an file in a form that can easily be parsed by an external application
(e.g. something like a comma separated list of numbers). The user should be
able to select from a kind of protocol tree which data items he wants and
which one he doesn't want in the export file. It should be possible to use
the filters of ethereal and to export only the selected data for the
filtered records. The current output of the 'print to a file' seems rather
difficult to process for applications like e.g. excel.

Does anyone have any suggestions how such an export fascility could be built
into ethereal? How much work would this represent? Are there any pitfalls to
expect?

Kind regards,
Johan Feyaerts
