Is that after "make dist" and then trying to build from the tarball?

There's no ltconfig in ethereal sources on my linux box. However, the
Solaris8 box has it but everything builds correctly. That's with both
"make dist" and CVS source trees.

The locate command found ltconfig from a very old, January 22 2000,
ethereal source tree on the linux box. Could it be that your source
tree is old enough for obsolete files to exist and autotools are
picking them up when they shouldn't.
