When I try to capture using a logical interface on Solaris 7, I get

tethereal: The capture session could not be initiated (le0:1 bad unit number).
Please check to make sure you have sufficient permissions, and that
you have the proper interface specified.

Capturing on a logical interface works under Linux, however.

BTW, is there a standard term for this type of interface? Cisco uses the
term "subinterface". The Solaris ifconfig(1M) man page calls them
"logical interfaces." The Linux documentation refers to them as
"aliases."
