Hi,

in my zeal to ensure that I am fully documenting the use of Ethereal, I was
checking out the filter dialog box (filter prefs box) and I found it very
hard to use.

If you enter a filter name and string, you MUST click new for that filter
to be remembered. If you don't, you loose it.

This is not very friendly behaviour (nor behavior :-) IMO. The OK callback
should check if a name or string has been entered, and should save it if
so. If a string was entered with no name, perhaps it should pop up a
warning box and refuse to return.

I also note that if you specify a display filter string in the Capture
Preferences dialog box, you get an error message :-)

BTW, is Gerald busy? I haven't received any responses from him for a while.

Regards
