Thanks. My question is closed.

Starting from your input I went back to the configuration of the ORB
which I didn't check before. It was set to use TCP.

Changing the appropriate settings to IIOP did solve my problem. Ethereal
filtering is working fine.

Thanks again for your time. I can't believe we had set up the ORB to use
TCP since we want to be able to interoperate with other ORBs.
