Hi,
I was playing with Ethereal 0.8.7 last night and added icons and version
information to the Windows version.
This gives the correct Ethereal icon in the window title bar, and if you
right click any executable in Explorer and select Properties, information is
available in the version tab.
The changes involve some new files, a .ico for the icon and .rc files for
the executables, and a change to Makefile.nmake. I've attached a zip with
the new files, the modified Makefile and a patch file. Note that I was
using the latest version of GTK and had to remove a win32 subdirectory from
the specification for gdkxxx.lib.
This gives the correct Ethereal icon in the window title bar, and if you
right click any executable in Explorer and select Properties, information is
available in the version tab.
You might care to fiddle with the *.rc files to update the copyright
information etc.
I intend to look into the scrambled hex window on the latest version of GTK
and the possibility of making the man pages into windows help files and
linking them to a menu item off the Help menu.
