Note also that changes to existing files are best supplied as patches -
I was able to check out the corresponding versions of files from CVS
(with "cvs update -p -r<version from the RCS ID line>"), and generate a
patch with "diff -c - <modified version>", which I had to do in order to
patch the current version in CVS.

In addition, note that a new file should have, in the introductory
comment, a line of the form

	 * $Id$

(in the same place that the RCS ID appears in existing files), so that
new files get an RCS ID as well.
