I added a "Capture" menu, with a "Start" item; "Capture/Start" is
currently the same as "Tools/Capture", but I'm tempted to get rid of
"Tools/Capture" at some point (at least some other capture programs have
a "Capture" menu, which seems like a logical place to put a menu item to
start a capture; "Tools/Capture" doesn't seem as obvious to me).
I added a "Display" menu, with an "Options" item; it pops up a dialog
box to let you change the "command line specified" time stamp format, so
you can change the default time stamp format in the summary display
either with the "-t" command line option or with that dialog box. If
you change it from the dialog box, the capture is redisplayed with the
new time stamp format. (NOTE: this does *NOT* change your column
preferences; it just changes the variable that the "-t" command line
option sets. This means that if you change it in one instance of
Ethereal, it won't affect other instances. If, while looking at some
particular capture, I want to see the inter-packet time deltas, that
doesn't necessarily mean I'll want to look at it the next time I look at
a capture.)
Other menu items could be added; for example, a menu item to set the
display filter ("Display/Filter", say) could be put on the "Display"
menu.
Any suggestions for a new name for the "Time (command line specified)"
column format? It can still be specified from the command line, but it
can now also be changed on the fly, so "(command line specified)" isn't
a complete description any more.
