It appears to be working on FreeBSD.  If I add an invalid flag (such as 
'Y') to the MALLOC_OPTIONS on FreeBSD, it gives me an error:

expr: (malloc) Unsupported character in malloc options: 'Y'

Otherwise the fuzz test runs fine.
