To be able to run wireshark as a normal user, I did the following:
-sudo -s
-groupadd -g wireshark
-usermod -a -G wireshark your-user-name
-chgrp wireshark /usr/local/bin/dumpcap
-chmod 4750 /usr/local/bin/dumpcap
I was able to run wireshark-qt as normal user, but not wireshark:
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
In syslog, there is the following error:
wireshark[8224]: segfault at 38004920 ip 00007fd15062d425 sp 00007fffe0c8cfe8
error 4 in libgobject-2.0.so.0.4400.1[7fd1505fa000+50000]
Should I file this bug on libglib2 Launchpad
(https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glib2.0/+bugs), or is there something
else we should do, at least aa a workaround?
